About the event

On Wednesday 5th August 2026 from 12.40 to 1.20pm, the Wesley Music Centre welcomes Canberra Symphony Orchestra 2026 Kingsland scholars, Jessica Hall (trombone), Amanda Tao (flute) and Jacob Aziz (violin), together with pianist Hilda Visser-Scott, who will perform music by Louise Farrenc, Cécile Chaminade, Camille Saint-Saëns and Alexandre Guilmant. 

 

Performers:


Jacob Aziz began violin at five, studying with Luci McArthur and Warwick Adeney. At Brisbane Boys’ College he led ensembles, toured Europe, and later served as Associate Concertmaster of QYO2. He has performed with Australian Youth Orchestra programs, won the 2024 BBC Solo Competition, and now studies at ANU, where he performs with the ANU Orchestra. 


Jessica Hall grew up in Dubbo and studied trombone on scholarship at Macquarie Conservatorium. She has performed at the Sydney Opera House, toured Europe with West of the Divide, and appeared with youth, school and regional ensembles. Jessica studies Music and Environmental Science & Sustainability at ANU and performs with the ANU Orchestra, RMC Chamber Ensemble and jazz groups.
