About the event

On Wednesday 8th April 2026 the Wesley Lunchtime Concert series presents a rare opportunity to hear in its entirety Bach's Aria with Thirty Variations, a monumental yet intimate composition, for which the Wesley Music Centre offers an ideally-sized venue. The endless variety of ideas employed by the composer creates an emotional roller coaster that will not fail to amuse. Having performed a number of Bach's other major works, including the entire first book of the Well-Tempered Clavier, the extraordinary young pianist Charles Huang is looking forward to bringing the Goldberg Variations to Canberra's music lovers. 


Charles Huang was born in Canberra and started piano lessons with his father just as he was turning five. He completed his LMusA diploma at age 11 and has won many first places in the Australian National Eisteddfod and other piano competitions, including first place in the 2023 ACTKA Piano Competition (Advanced Division).
