About the event
The Elegy Project is the inaugural performance of a collective of local singers and instrumentalists who want to explore elements of crossing over and different genres in elegies composed through time. They will sing, play, share, inspire and provoke you with elegiac music, innovations and storytelling. You will hear a sample from this project featuring vocal ensemble, jazz quartet and solo piano with music by Henry Purcell, Frederic Chopin, Megan Washington, Joni Mitchell and more.
The collective members are Oliver Bruhl, Cody Christopher, Ruby Bunnett, Emma Griffiths, Petra Lindsay, Martin Magill, Lachlan Rankin, Rachael Thoms, Veronica Thwaites-Brown, Neille Williams, Daniel Westbury (voices), Gus Henderson-Mack (drums), Micah Knight (piano), Christopher Pound (double bass, guitar, synthesiser) and Kimberley Steele (piano, voice, directing).
