About the event
On Wednesday 20th September from 12.40 to 1.20pm, the Wesley Music Centre Lunchtime Concert series is delighted to welcome the Canberra Men’s Choir singing popular songs from the 1940s to the 1980s, together with some American spirituals and folk songs.
The Canberra Men’s Choir, established in 1986, is a non-auditioned choir that welcomes all men who enjoy singing, regardless of their musical experience and ability. We are proud that many of our members’ first experience with singing was when they joined the Choir. We perform a diverse repertoire in venues around Canberra. Currently a small group of around 40 guys, we always welcome new members, both young and old, experienced and inexperienced.
The choir’s repertoire is chosen to showcase the unique sound of the male singing voice.
The choir’s Musical Director is Leanne McKean. Leanne is an experienced conductor who has worked with a variety of community, school and chamber choirs in Canberra and in the United Kingdom. She has been leading the choir since 2016.
Entry $15. Additional donations welcome.
