Wednesday Lunchtime Concert: Liszt Piano Sonata

On Wednesday 19^th August 2026 the Wesley Lunchtime Concert series welcomes back the talented performer, pianist Sam Row, in another wonderful concert – this time Liszt’s only sonata for the piano.  

Composed in 1854, this magnificent work condenses the many aspects of Liszt's dramatic personality into a single monumental movement. 

Sam Row graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University in 2016 with Bachelor of Music with a major in classical piano. Growing up in North Queensland, Sam played for many music theatre productions with Burdekin Singers. Since moving to Queanbeyan, Sam has continued classical piano studies with Colin Forbes. 

Currently Sam teaches piano, saxophone, and clarinet, and he accompanies solo instrumentalists and singers for exams and recitals; the Rhythm Syndicate and the Queanbeyan Community Choir for concerts and community carols.
