The Wesley Wednesday Lunchtime series is thrilled to welcome back the outstanding performers Alasdair Stretch (baritone) and Callum Tolhurst-Close (piano) in a gorgeous recital that brings together two sides of English song: the lyrical beauty of Shakespeare, set to music by Gerald Finzi and Roger Quilter, and the depth of Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical Songs. Come and enjoy a program that explores selections of the human experience: love, faith and death through some of the most expressive music in the English canon.
