About the event
Queensland-born emerging Australian pianist Reuben Tsang is an exceptional artist on the rise. He “stunned the crowd” in 2016 (Limelight Magazine), with his performance of Chopin and Beethoven at the 2016 Sydney International Piano Competition. He was just twelve years old. Now 19 years old Reuben returns to the stage as a Piano+Emerging Artist, having been named Winner of the Nancy Weir Best Australian Prize, proudly supported by YMFA, in addition to scooping two additional awards at the 2023 Sydney International Piano Competition. Reuben proved his merit by sailing through the Preliminary Rounds becoming the second youngest competitor ever to reach the Semi-Final Rounds, all the while completing his studies at Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University under the tutelage of Natasha Vlassenko. There is no doubt that Reuben Tsang is an extraordinary performer with a stellar career ahead of him. This is your opportunity to catch him on the rise as he performs works by Scarlatti and Fauré, along with the Brahms Piano Sonata No.1 in C major Op.1 and the Mozart Piano Sonata No.3 in B major K.281.
