Oriana’s final concert of 2023 delivers masterworks from two of the 20th century’s greatest composers. Frank Martin’s Mass for Double Choir has become widely regarded as one of the finest pieces of sacred music ever written: a tour de force of contrasts, power and exquisite beauty. Francis Poulenc’s set of Christmas motets, which famously opens with the hauntingly set O Magnum Mysterium encompasses all that is Christmas. Alongside these we will also present music by the 16th century Italian composer Maddalena Casulana and Sydneysider Brooke Shelley. An unmissable concert fit for the festive season!
