About the event
Harold Gretton and Jeff Donovan are both graduates of the ANU School of Music. Jeff Donovan studied with Sadie Bishop and Timothy Kain and later with José Tomás in Alicante, Spain. Back in Australia, he taught guitar for thirty years at the Riverina Conservatorium of Music in Wagga Wagga. Harold Gretton also studied with Timothy Kain and gained a PhD before touring in Europe, USA, Vietnam and Mexico. He won first prizes at JK Mertz Competition 2010, Coria International Guitar Competition 2008, Vienna Guitar Forum 2007 and Córdoba Guitar Festival 2007. He now teaches at the Riverina Conservatorium of Music and he and Jeff work together at the Riverina Summer School for Strings. They have been playing as a duo since 2022 and enjoy immensely the opportunities provided by the two guitar format.
